The hall of a maecenas of art Vladimir Nekrasov was opened in the Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val

December 22, 2017 the solemn opening ceremony of the first private hall of the maecenas and donor of the museum Vladimir Ilyich Nekrasov took place in the permanent exposition of the Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val.


The ceremony was held with the participation of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation V.R. Medinsky and the general director of the Tretyakov Gallery Z.I. Tregulova.


The Tretyakov Gallery sums up the results of 2017, dedicated to launching the long-term program "Maecenas and donors - the Tretyakov Gallery." The year of the program's work is closing with the opening of the first patron in the museum of the philanthropist Vladimir Ilyich Nekrasov (born in 1961). Simultaneously, this hall, one of the largest and most important in the route for the permanent exposition of 20th century art in the Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val, becomes monographic and is fully dedicated to the work of the largest artist of the second half of the twentieth and beginning of the 21st century, Heliya Korzheva. Of the 37 works submitted, 33 paintings were received as a gift from VI. Nekrasov. The exhibition will also house three of Korzhev's masterpieces, purchased from American collectors Ray and Susan Johnson and donated to the museum by the Tretyakov Gallery Support Fund.


According to the results of the program "Maecenas and donors - the Tretyakov Gallery" during 2017, 1 936 works of art were donated to the museum's collection. Among the most significant receipts, the first was the famous canvas of the largest contemporary artist E.V. Bulatova "The Picture and the Spectators" (2011-2013), donated to the museum by the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation. Then came the gift of the picture of D.D. Zhilinsky's "The Man with the Killed Dog" (1976). Then the Dmitry Prigov Foundation in the person of his widow, NG. Burovoy sent to the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery a graphic work of 16 pages by Dmitry Alexandrovich Prigov "Portrait of Heidegger" from the series "Bestiary" (2000s). In September, the Contemporary Art Support Fund COSMOSCOW presented the Tretyakov Gallery with works by Andrei Kuzkin, the winner of the Innovation Prize and the Kandinsky Prize.


November 4, during the official opening of the "Night of the Arts" in the Tretyakov Gallery, a solemn ceremony of the transfer of the collector V.I. Nekrasov as a gift to the museum of the collection of works by Gelia Korzhev (1925-2012), the most important artist in the Russian art of the second half of the XX - beginning of the XXI century. This gift - the largest in recent decades, the receipt of the value and quantity of masterpieces.


After less than two months, a complete architectural rethinking and reconstruction of one of the largest and most spectacular halls in the permanent exposition of 20th century art was carried out. Here opens the first hall in the history of the museum, dedicated to the collector and the donor of the Tretyakov Gallery. After the hall of Vladimir Nekrasov there will be halls of George Kostaki and Leonid Talochkin.
