The exhibition of Salvador Dali's works "Salvador Dali. Magical Art" was organized by the Faberge Museum, the Cultural-Historical Foundation "Link of Times" and the Gala-Salvador Dali Foundation. The curator of the exhibition is Monce Ager, director of the Dali Museums of the Gala - Salvador Dali Foundation. The exposition will be based on works from the collections of the Gala Salvador Dali Foundation and the Reina Sofia Art Center National Museum. Works from private European collections will also be shown. The exposition will unite more than 180 original works of the artist.
“This exhibition is absolutely unique, it is the most complete large exhibition of Dali, which has been in our country in general for all history,” said Vladimir Voronchenko, chairman of the board of the cultural and historical foundation Svyaz Vremeni, director of the Faberge Museum. “It includes absolutely all periods of the artist’s work : from an early period of passion for impressionism in the 1910s to the 1980s. We can see all of Dali’s work, all his professional and personal growth. "
According to him, the exhibition at the Manege will also be unique in size - more than 7 thousand meters, includes art objects, two cinemas, a recreation area. Many works have never left Spain or have been displayed very rarely. For example, "Soft Self-Portrait with Fried Bacon" will be exhibited for the first time in Moscow. Among other works that visitors will see are “The Invisible Man”, “Sense of Speed”, “Architectonic” Angelus “Millet”, “Landscape with Mysterious Elements”, “Normal Pagan Landscape”, “Dematerialization under the Nero's Nose”, as well as the full a series of prints illustrating Dante's Divine Comedy.
The curator of the exhibition, director of the Dali Museums and the Dali Heritage Research Center of the Gala - Salvador Dali Foundation, Monce Ager, said that Dali wanted immortality and was fascinated by this idea. “I think that this exhibition and the vision of Dali that we give it will help us achieve its immortality,” she added.
It is expected that Russia's largest exhibition of works by Salvador Dali will become no less popular than last year's exhibition of Mexican artists Frida Calo and Diego Rivera.
The head of the Moscow City Department of Culture, Alexander Kibovsky, noted that this exhibition is extremely important for Moscow, because it allows citizens to see the exposition of a world-class master without leaving abroad. The Ambassador of Spain to the Russian Federation, Fernando Valderram Pareja, noted that today, visitors from Russia occupy the second largest number of all visitors to the Dali Museum in Figueres, and their number is constantly growing.
