Retrospective exhibition of Andrei Remnev opens in the Moscow Union of Artists
25 September 2019, Wednesday

The combination of a beautiful old Russian style with new forms is a similar description that suits the work of the artist Andrei Remnev, whose retrospective exhibition will open on September 30 at the Exhibition Hall of the Moscow Union of Artists (MOA) on 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya.

This will be the first solo exhibition under the auspices of the Moscow Union of Artists for a famous artist. “This is an opportunity to show their work in a wonderful, legendary exhibition space,” says Andrei Remnev about the upcoming event. This place is the exhibition hall of the Association of Artists of the Ministry of Agriculture, in which exhibitions of contemporary artists of the country have been held for more than 60 years.

Andrei Remnev received particular popularity precisely for his style, in which church motifs merge with Russian constructivism. In addition to such a connection, the artist’s technique itself is very interesting. Andrey Remnev works using ancient techniques, using natural paints of his own production based on egg yolk. Often his paintings depict the lifestyle of people of ancient Russia, Russian motives of fairy tales and legends. However, in 2017, a series of works dedicated to contemporary Russian ballet dancers was released. The sketches reflected the subtlety and sophistication of people, the beauty of the body and dance, connected together in one moment.

His work inspired the Spanish fashion house “Delposo” in the fall-winter 2015 collection, and the Italian fashion house “Vivetta” created the spring-summer 2018 collection together with the artist.
Remnev is also known for his portraits, one of which was presented at the exhibition of the Russian Museum "Portrait of a Family" as an illustration of the latest genre - a modern Russian custom-made portrait.

The upcoming exhibition will feature both old and new works that have not yet seen the light. You can visit it from September 30 to October 12, 2019 in the exhibition hall of the Association of Artists of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Do not miss the chance to look at the work of one of the most amazing artists of modern Russia.

September 30 - October 12, 2019.
