“Urgent resuscitation of the urban environment” is the motto of the festival of contemporary art “Perm Long Stories”. Its participants create canvases on fences along industrial sites. Artists come up with stories in pictures, select a jury, and volunteers transfer them to concrete.

Ksenia in "Long Stories of Perm" is participating for the first time. She is studying at the Ural Academy of Sculpture and Architecture, but she did not do street painting before this project, so her approach was not standard. On her fence, she depicted rusty objects from her grandmother's house - handles, locks, keys.

“It was a grandmother’s castle. She has a doorknob, she was in an old bathhouse that grandfather was building. All this has already been taken apart, it just lies somewhere, ”said the artist Ksenia Filipieva.

Work is in full swing. This fence is the longest of all. Only 50 sections. The story that will be told here was invented by Perm artists Mikhail Pavlyukevich and Daria Subbotina. It is called Perm Bear. New time. " The painters tried to humanize the symbol of Perm - the bear.

“He gives the sticks to this little man, or he takes them,” said volunteer Kirill Ivshin.

These stories usually cause violent emotions on the part of the townspeople, some like them, but others express indignation.

Already almost ready-made fences of the St. Petersburg artist Alexander Kurylenko are here on Karl Marx Square. But one of the sections is now shaded because the locals did not like it, and the ornament will be redone.

This year it is planned to ennoble only 13 fences. They want to finish all the work in mid-August.
