Today, for the anniversary of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements, an exhibition of the Ulyanovsk Art Museum has opened in the pavilion "Worker and Kolkhoz Woman". This is a continuation of the intermuseum exchange program, thanks to which regional museums can show in Moscow the best things from their collections. The Ulyanovsk exposition was called “Polenov, Plastov, Picasso and not only” to emphasize the wealth of museum collections.

“The Ulyanovsk Art Museum is a special museum. The main part of his collection is collected thanks to the nationalization of the Simbirsk nobles, Simbirsk aristocrats, who not only ordered family portraits of their own or their household to artists and some famous big artists, but also because they bought a huge amount of art and ordered the best Russian and western artists, ”says Lina Krasnyanskaya, curator of the exhibition.

The exhibition - the work of Levitan, Repin, Vereshchagin, Aivazovsky. A special section is devoted to the works of the Soviet artist Arkady Plastov, a native of Simbirsk province. The pride of the Ulyanovsk Museum is the collection of Pablo Picasso ceramics. The master began to engage in this type of art in the late 40s, during the period of his passion for antiquity. The exhibition - the vessels, reminiscent of fantastic creatures, and plot panels.
