July 22 in Moscow at the site of the Bakhrushin Museum will open the exhibition “Source of inspiration. Theater and folk costume ”, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the State Historical Museum. The joint project of the Bakhrushinsky Theater Museum and the State Historical Museum will present a variety of traditional costumes. Visitors will see the original works of outstanding theater artists: Benoit, Yepishin, Korovin, Fedorovsky, Dorrer, Lieber, Saryan, Gudiashvili, Virsaladze, Gamrekeli, the creative team "Sameuli" (Kochakidze, Slovinsky, Chikvaidze) and others.
The exhibition will be collected exhibits from a unique ethnographic collection - 20 traditional festive costumes from Russia, Ukraine, the Baltic States, Moldova, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
The exhibition will demonstrate national festive clothing, show features of theatrical costumes and sketches for performances. Many antiques will be decorated with unique lace, appliqué, cord, beads and unusual ornament. Spectators will be able to appreciate the details and elements of women's costumes of the XVIII - beginning of the XX century, as well as to trace how the areas of stage design and fashion changed over several eras (fabrics of various textures, cut, silhouettes, accessories, and much more).
In addition, within the framework of the project, modern artists and designers will present their program of performances, while maintaining interest in the historical theme, national identity and folk culture.
