The exhibition "Impressionism and Spanish Art", which will show 57 paintings, sculpture and graphics from 14 leading museums in Spain and private collections, will be held October 10, 2019 - January 26, 2020 at the Museum of Russian Impressionism in Moscow.
"The first large-scale Spanish exposition at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries in Russia will acquaint the public with the work of 18 Spanish artists who worked alongside French Impressionists, participated in the first exhibitions of a new direction for European art in 1880s in European art. Joaquin's paintings will be presented at the exhibition Sorolla, Ramona Casas, Dario de Regoyosa, Marian Pidelaserra, Ignacio Mayol, Santiago Rusinjol, Ricardo Canals, Ignacio Suloaga, Joaquim Mira, Pere Iserna, "said the press service.
The project involves 14 art museums in Spain, including: the National Museum of Art of Catalonia, the Museum of Montserrat, the House Museum of Joaquin Sorolla, the Museum of Fine Arts Bilbao, etc. The exhibition will be complemented by two paintings from the Pushkin Museum. The exhibition was curated by the Catalan art historian, writer Francesco Fontbona. The exhibition will be held with the support of the Spanish Embassy.
The Museum of Russian impressionism was opened to visitors in May 2016. It is located in the building of the former confectionery factory "Bolshevik" on Leningradsky Avenue. The main exhibition consists of paintings from the collection of the museum’s founder Boris Mints: works by prominent Russian artists Konstantin Korovin and Valentin Serov, Stanislav Zhukovsky and Igor Grabar, Konstantin Yuon and Boris Kustodiev, Pyotr Konchalovsky and Alexander Gerasimov.
