A retrospective exhibition "Nikolai Mescherin. Exit from the hustle and bustle" opened at the Moscow Museum of Russian Impressionism on Wednesday.

“Today we are opening the Nikolai Mescherin exhibition“ Getting out of the hustle and bustle. ”Getting out of the hustle and bustle is the main line of life of our today's hero, Nikolai Vasilyevich Meshcherin,” director of the museum Yulia Petrova told a press conference on the opening of the exhibition.

"We conceived this exhibition a year ago. We wanted to devote it to only one Meshcherin at the beginning, but during the discussion it became clear that this world he created around himself would enrich our exposition, and the exhibition was finally devoted to the manor and the house and the world created there, "she added.

The Museum of Russian impressionism prepared this exhibition together with the Tretyakov Gallery. "This exhibition contains works from 15 museums and from five private collectors. This is a large collection, a lot of work has been done by curators," said Petrova.

In addition, the museum prepares a half-hour soundpromenade, that is, a musical tour of the exhibition, which the artist himself will conduct for each viewer. The plots of the paintings will come to life in the audio performance, the most vivid and interesting details of the artist’s life, his quotes and art criticism of those or other works will be performed.

According to the director of the museum, a model will be prepared especially for the little guests, around which a number of educational programs for children will be built.

Meshcherin was one of the faithful followers of the philosophy of French impressionism and one of the masters who introduced impressionistic techniques to Russian painting at the turn of the XIX – XX centuries.

The exhibition "Nikolay Mescherin. Exit from the hustle and bustle" will last until May 19, 2019.
