In the State Hermitage Museum presented an art object of unusual shape. The installation is assembled from different parts of old scientific instruments and devices. The work was called “The first north-west installation of the mega-science class“ Quantanologos ”or abbreviated PSECUK MS. The installation was made by artists of the Mitki art group together with the Institute of High Molecular Compounds of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“Today we have a wonderful experiment with the IVS — an excellent apparatus, which, as it turns out, is still working, today is beginning to turn into a work of art. This is a very good experiment for the museum, which stores the scientific instruments of Peter the Great, the continuation of the tradition. And the idea that they not only work scientifically, but also in the museum space is great, ”said Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the Hermitage.

The authors of the project, Andrey Kuznetsov and Dmitry Shagin, have been working on the installation for two years. It is created from devices found on the territory of the institute. Scientists were sorry to throw out the still working equipment, so it was turned into a work of art.

You can look at the eccentric art object until February 24th.
