The action "Cultural Marathon" will be held in Russia for the first time on November 24-25. Within its framework, it will be possible to visit the exhibition of works by Arkhip Kuindzhi in the Tretyakov Gallery and the exhibition "Unexpected Malevich" in the Russian Museum, the organizers of the VII St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum reported.
“This is an important cultural project that opens museums for free access to convenient times and complements exhibitions with versatile entertainment and educational events. We support initiatives that positively influence the development of the cultural environment,” said Vladislav Kononov, director of museums at the Ministry of Culture. RF.
The action is timed to the International Day of Charity # Generous Tuesday. The Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, the Tula State Museum of Arms, the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad will open their doors for free visits.
“Now we are facing a new challenge - how to attract those who always postpone visiting the museum for later? Especially families with several children, for whose budget the ticket price can be a significant amount. I sincerely hope that the action will help us achieve this goal”, - said the director of the Tretyakov Gallery Zelfira Tregulova.
The Cultural Marathon was a continuation of the Cultural Weekend, an educational program, under which the charitable foundation Sistema opens museums in different cities of the country for free to visit for one or two days. Over the past "Cultural Weekends" museums that participated in the action, about 50 thousand people visited, which is three times more than during regular weekends.
The VII St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum opened on November 15. The participants of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum were greeted by President Vladimir Putin.
