Personal exhibition of Yuri Cooper will be held in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum

On November 14, 2018, at 6 pm, within the framework of the program of the VII International Cultural Forum in the Yusupov Palace on Moika, the opening ceremony of the exhibition of theater artist Yuri Cooper will take place.


In the Preziosa hall, paintings, sketches of scenery, graphic works, as well as costumes for performances created by the artist in different years will be presented.


After the official part there will be a presentation of a collection of poems by Yuri Cooper. From the stage of Prince Yusupov’s Home Theater, selected works will be performed by Nikita Mikhalkov, Anastasia Vertinskaya and Veniamin Smekhov.


Visitors to the palace exhibition will be available for visits from November 15 to December 7, 2018.


Yuri Cooper was born in 1940 in Moscow. He graduated from the graphic arts department of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute. In 1967 he became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 1972 he emigrated to Israel, then lived in France and the UK. In 2016 he again received Russian citizenship. Today, his works are exhibited in major museums and collections in the world, including the Tretyakov Gallery and the collection of the Library of Congress.


Over the years, Robert Altman (USA), Marcel Marechal (France), as well as many famous Russian directors Oleg Efremov, Oleg Tabakov, Alexander Alov, Vladimir Naumov, Vladimir Petrov and others worked with the artist. The work of the artist with Nikita Mikhalkov should also be noted.
