The Van Goghy film, created by the joint efforts of Russian and Latvian cinematographers with the participation of the famous Polish artist Daniel Olbrychsky, will be presented on Wednesday, the penultimate day of the XXVI Russian Film Festival in Vyborg.
"Van Goghy" talk about the difficult relationship of his father, the famous conductor, and his son, an unsuccessful artist who live in different cities. It suits native people who have become strangers, but everything changes when the father is seriously ill.
"This is the eternal theme of the relationship between fathers and children with age, when parents grow old, it becomes important for you personally." It's not a story from my life. "The events are fictional, the problems are shared, and my feelings," the script writer and director Sergei Livnev.
The title roles in the film are performed by two famous actors - Alexei Serebryakov and Daniel Olbrychsky.
"Serebryakov was originally planned for the role of son, but as for Olbrychsky, he appeared literally ten days before the shooting, when I completely copied the script, where the main characters were already the father and son," says the director.
Livnev said that Olbrychsky played his role in Russian and worked hard to make the speech sound without accent.
"These two powerful and amazing actors are very different: Serebryakov always prepares carefully beforehand, thinks everything over, and Olbrychsky - on the contrary, is very intuitive." During the work they fell in love and respected. "Like them, the characters they created in the film, there was such a creative rivalry, "Livnev said.
The film features a star cast: Polina Agureeva, Elena Koreneva, Natalia Negoda, Svetlana Nemolyayeva, Olga Ostroumova, Evgeny Tkachuk, Avangard Leontiev and others.
