In the Pushkin Museum opens an exhibition of works by Venetian masters of the Rococo era "From Tiepolo to Canaletto and Guardi"

Fifty-seven works of Venetian painters of the XVIII century from the collections of the Pushkin Museum and museums of Italy will be able to see the visitors of the exhibition "From Tiepolo to Canaletto and Guardi", which opens in the Pushkin Museum, said at a press conference on Monday director of the Pushkin Museum Marina Loshak.


"United in one space, these paintings will create the most complete picture of the diversity of Venetian painting of the Rococo," - said in a press release of the Pushkin Museum.


"The uniqueness lies in the fact that for the first time we for ourselves formulated such a clear semantic density that binds Russia and Italy.We have put together two collections that are devoted to the same topic that complement each other and help enrich each other that are represented as a result very powerful, bright and important cut in the history of art, "said Loshak.


The exhibition features works by Giovanni Battista (Giambattista) Tiepolo, Giovanni Battista (Giambattista) Pittoni, Luke Carlevaris, Giovanni Battista (Giambattista) Piazzetta, Giovanni Antonio Canaletto, Francesco Guardi, Pietro Longhi.


"This exhibition gives us the opportunity to show a variety of Venetian art, but it also gives us the right to be proud of what we have today," said curator of the exhibition Victoria Markova.
