The exhibition of works by graduates of the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, Ilya Glazunov, opened on Friday in the halls of the central Roman exhibition center "Vittoriano". The exposition is included in the program of the festival "Russian Seasons" and will last two months.

The exhibition entitled "Haec est civitas mea. It's My World" is organized by the Academy itself, the Center for Film Festivals and International Programs with the participation of the Arco International Foundation and with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, Russian Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs.

Presented at the exhibition the best graduate works of graduates of the Academy of the last 30 years are made in a classical manner and depict different subjects. These are evangelical episodes, sketches from the life of Russian saints, epic stories, landscapes with churches, as well as historical sketches and portraits of historical characters: Russian writers and composers. In the canvases, along with external similarity, the image of the heroes, preserved in the collective memory of the descendants, is transmitted. The exhibition also introduces the history of the Academy, graduates of which since 1987 have become more than a thousand artists.

Ilya Glazunov had a lot to do with Italy. In 1984, his solo exhibition was held in Rome, the Soviet artist was supported by the President of Italy Sandro Pertini. On that visit, Glazunov met with prominent figures of Italian art and painted portraits of Federico Fellini, Lucino Visconti, Michelangelo Antonioni. Gina Lollobrigida attended Glazunov's workshop in Moscow.
