An exhibition "City and people. Moscow in the graphics of the twentieth century" was opened in the New Tretyakov Gallery

In the State Tretyakov Gallery on the Crimean Val (New Tretyakov Gallery) an exhibition "City and people. Moscow in the graphics of the twentieth century".


The exposition, which covers the period from the 1920s to the 1980s, included about 80 works by Alexander Kuprin, Aristarkh Lentulov, Vladimir Favorsky and Nikolai Chernyshev, and other artists. The exhibition continues a series of displays of graphic works from the Tretyakov Gallery's storehouses. Many works are shown for the first time.


It is graphics as the most operative kind of fine art, capable of conveying many details and nuances, could most fully reflect the transformation that Moscow underwent during the twentieth century.


The exhibition is timed to the 870th anniversary of the capital.
