16 August 2017, Wednesday

The fifth anniversary edition of Cosmoscow, the only international contemporary art fair in Russia, will be held in Gostiny Dvor from September 8 to 10, 2017 with the support of strategic partner Credit Suisse, jewelry partner Messika, automobile partner Bentley and official partner Beluga Transatlantic.

This year 54 galleries from Europe (Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Georgia, Italy, Norway, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Great Britain) and the USA will take part in Cosmoscow. They will present works of more than 150 artists to collectors and art lovers. Compared with previous releases, this is a record number of galleries and artists and is due to interest in the fair both inside the country and abroad.

In 2017, Cosmoscow launches a number of new initiatives, including the Collaborations, Focus and Past Present sections, as well as the special "Best Cosmoscow stand" award, which will ensure the winning gallery free participation in the next edition of the fair. The winner of the prize will be determined by an authoritative jury, which includes representatives of Russian art institutions: Irina Gorlova (State Tretyakov Gallery), Alisa Prudnikova (NCCA), Ekaterina Kibovskaya (Moscow International Biennale of Young Art), Alexei Novoselov (Moscow Museum of Modern Art). The main criterion, which the jury members will be guided in making their decision, is the quality of the exposition of the stand.

The strategic partner of Cosmoscow, the Swiss bank Credit Suisse, has been cooperating with the fair for the third consecutive year. For Credit Suisse, a partnership with Cosmoscow is an opportunity to contribute to the development of the contemporary art market, as well as to support the activities of the fair to promote young Russian artists in the domestic and international art scene.
