Divorce Abramovich and Zhukova - what will happen to the Museum of Contemporary Art "Garage" and the island of "New Holland"
8 August 2017, Tuesday

Employees of "Garage" are calm and are confident that this event will not in any way affect the work of the museum. And they say: "We can not worry for us. Our mood is militant. Our activities will not be affected and all plans, projects planned for both the near and the far future will take place. " This applies to the very complex "Garage", and the island of New Holland.

- But, perhaps, Roman Abramovich, as the main sponsor of your museum, will reduce funding? Do not you have such a fear?

- This will not happen, as Roman Arkadevich and Darya Alexandrovna remain partners and co-founders of "Garage", - the press service of the museum told us.

So, despite the unexpected divorce, all plans remain in force. So, on August 14, in the "Garage" a unique exhibition "Music on Bones" will open, probably dedicated to the only socio-cultural phenomenon - the production of plates on X-ray images. On them, with the contours of the phonetic, lung and hip joints, the craftsmen recorded the rock music forbidden in the USSR, and this was a whole underground movement that formed the taste of a generation of Soviet youth. And in late September in the "Garage" is expected an autumn blockbuster - the first large-scale project in Russia of the superstar of Japanese art Takashi Murakami. It covers several periods of the artist's work, from the early 1990s to the present day. Even the facade of "Garage", as they say, during this period will not be recognized.
