The State Pushkin Museum plans to raise money for the purchase of Titian's "Venus and Adonis" from a Russian collector by collecting money through the Internet.

According to the director of the Pushkin Museum, the world-class works are not in private collections - in museums. But the purchase of such masterpieces needs tens of millions of dollars. And collecting money through the Internet is one of the real ways to collect the right amount.

"Such things are carried out, of course, by the society together, it can not be only a mission of people, a museum or a narrow circle of trustees. The museum has too many needs, and our friends, patrons of art help us in every possible way, "explained the director of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Marina Loshak.

The appearance of a new version of the picture of Titian "Venus and Adonis" - one of the high-profile sensations of recent years in art history. This painting - as the work of an unknown Venetian master - in 2005 was purchased at auction by a Russian collector. With a request to conduct an examination, he appealed to the Pushkin Museum. The studies carried out at that time showed the authorship of the great Italian painter.

Today the picture is among the works presented at the exhibition "Venice of the Renaissance. Titian. Tintoretto, Veronese. " In Pushkin, they hope that after the exposition "Venus and Adonis" is completed, it will remain in the museum for some time. Negotiations on this matter are under way.
