The duties of the rector of the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture will be performed by the son of artist Ilya Glazunov Ivan. The corresponding government order of July 21, signed by the Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev, was published on Monday.
People's Artist of the USSR Ilya Glazunov, who founded the academy and was its permanent rector, died on July 9, 2017 at the age of 87 years.
"To assign the duties of the rector of the federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education, the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, Ilya Glazunov, to the head of the department, Ivan Ilyich Glazunov, until the rector is appointed in the established order," the document says.
That's just what is meant by words - "in the prescribed manner" - is still unknown.
