An exhibition "Salon of French Artists in Moscow" will be held in the Zurab Tsereteli Gallery from June 24 to July 23

More than 50 works of painting, graphics, sculpture will be seen by the visitors of the exhibition "The Salon of French Artists in Moscow", which will be held in the "Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery" from June 24 to July 23, the project's press service reports.


In February 2017, the delegation of the Russian Academy of Arts (RAK), at the invitation of the Association of French Artists, presented its work at the annual international exhibition Art En Capital, which takes place in Paris since 1901 in the Grand Palais. Experts awarded the PAH with the gold medal of the Salon. The exhibition "Salon of French Artists in Moscow" will be a continuation of this bilateral Russian-French cultural project.


"From 24 June to 23 July 2017, the exhibition" Salon of French Artists in Moscow "will be held in the halls of the Museum and Exhibition Complex" Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery "with the support of the Rossotrudnichestvo representation in France and the Stella Art International association. Works of easel painting, graphics, mosaic, sculpture, architecture and photography, "the press service said.


The Association of French Artists is a direct descendant of the Salon, which Jean-Baptiste Colbert, who actively promoted the advancement of art and science, created for Louis XIV. Its modern name was given in 1881. It included such famous creators as Edouard Manet, Auguste Renoir, Auguste Rodin and many others. Every year, Art en Capital experts invite more than 650 masters from all over the world to participate in the exhibition. In 2017, the Salon was held for the 227th time.
