The current retrospective is the most complete show of Serebryakova's works in the last 30 years. The accent in the exposition is made on the most fruitful Russian period of the artist's work. A significant place is given to the portrait work of Serebryakova - her favorite genre and landscapes. Also at the exhibition will be sketches of paintings of Kazan Station in Moscow and a series of paintings revealing the behind-the-scenes world of the Mariinsky Theater.
The works of the Paris period will come from French collections; These works will be shown in Russia for the first time. Also for the first time the Moscow viewer will see the decorative panels of Villa Brouwer, long believed to have died during the Second World War.
The exhibition will include the best works from the collections: the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Museum of the Benois Family in Peterhof, the State Museum of Fine Arts. Pushkin, Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum and the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus (Minsk), the Zinaida Serebryakova Foundation (Paris) and private collections in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris and London.
