Weekend in Moscow: "The Thaw" in the Tretyakov Gallery and the "Magic Light"  in the museum-estate of Mouravieff-Apostol

This weekend Muscovites waiting for the thaw, not only outside, but also in the Tretyakov Gallery - there is an exhibition of "The Thaw", dedicated to the atmosphere of the '60s, you just get away from the snow in the museum-estate Mouravieff-Apostol at the exhibition "Magic Light of Ivan Schultze".


In the Tretyakov Gallery this week opened an exhibition "The Thaw", which offers a plunge into the atmosphere of the Soviet 60s. The exhibition covers the period from 1953, when the first amnesty of political prisoners took place after Stalin's death, and until 1968, when the entry of Soviet tanks into Czechoslovakia dispelled illusions about the possibility of building socialism with a "human face".


The exhibition includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, everyday objects, design patterns, as well as video projections with fragments of feature films and documentary footage. It is divided into several sections: "The conversation with his father," "The best city in the world", "International Relations", "New life", "Development", "Communism!", "Atom - Space".


In the museum-estate Mouravieff-Apostol in Moscow for the first time an exhibition of Russian painter Ivan Schultze. His works reflect the experience of well-known classics of Russian art of the XIX century, its highly regarded in the royal family, but after the revolution, the artist left Russia and continued his career abroad. The exhibition includes about 60 works of artist from museums and private collections in France, Germany and Canada. The exhibition reflects the uniqueness of the European perception of nature through the lens of nostalgia, sounded in the artist throughout his life.
