In Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts opened an exhibition of one painting - "Battle of Maloyaroslavets" brush Peter von Hess.
This pattern of battle painting is one of 12 monumental canvases, on which the artist worked for nearly two decades. They depict the major battle in 1812. The picture presented in the framework of the campaign Hermitage Days in Kaluga.
Increased security measures - one of the requirements to museums, exhibiting the treasures of the Hermitage collections. The list of prerequisites for this fabric are given and the room temperature - in the range 18 -20 degrees and humidity - not more than 58 percent. The main historical value of the picture is that it is actually written from nature. Peter von Hess personally visited Maloyaroslavets, studied the local landscapes and, most likely, he conversed with the participants of the battle to fulfill the main requirements of the customer - the Emperor Nicholas I - painting should correspond to historical facts. Also in the framework of the Days of the Hermitage in Kaluga will be held lectures, film screenings and presentations of museum programs.
