The notions of contemporary art "installation" and "Pop Art" was translated into the language of the deaf

The first video dictionary of contemporary art for the Russian sign language, consisting of 36 key notions, provided Museum of Modern Art "Garage".

Avant-garde, performance, installation, street art, Dadaism - before all these concepts had to be deaf daktilirovat - lay spell - and explain the meaning. Many deaf people do not know about the existence of these concepts, as specialists in the arts who own sign language in our country units, and all these terms should in fact be given to a qualified explanation.

In general, the Russian permanent tours for deaf visitors spend only three museums - "Cars", the Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA) and the Museum of Russian impressionism. Employees of the last two practices were just as "Cars". Tretyakov Gallery has a video guide with subtitles, but, as they say deaf people, they would be more desirable to see on live tours specialists.

By the development of the vocabulary of modern art museum workers attracted five experts - Deaf people associated with journalism, culture and social life, which is already aware of the existence of these terms and have been working to create gestures that they explain.

- We picked gestures related to the meaning and significance of each word.
