People's Artist of Russia Alexander Tikhomirov will present their works in Paris in the technique "Okonopis": on the old window shutters master tempera produces religious subjects; all in the French capital will be presented 23 works, according to Russian Center of Science and Culture in Paris.

 

"Okonopis" as a new trend in modern religious painting Tikhomirov patented in 1995, as a "canvas", he uses shutters with old houses, as a rule, those who have completed at least 50 years. In the works of Tikhomirov uses tempera PVA paints in a palette of 3-4, at the end of a work of applied protective layer of liquid wax.

 

"In Okonopisi" Tikhomirov continues the best traditions of Russian masters of iconography, but not in form, not canonical technology and the depth of images created and experienced ", - the director of the Russian Center of Science and Culture Igor Shpynev.

In Paris "Okonopis" will see in the "Rus" project - a creative project Tikhomirov and his wife, photographer Elena, who captured Russian landscapes. On 13 of her works will be presented to the exhibition.

 

Tikhomirov works are in museums and private collections in many countries, including Canada, China, USA, France. Several exhibitions of the artist were held in the Christ the Savior Cathedral, including - in honor of the anniversary of Patriarch Alexei II, where the work went to Jerusalem, but the most important for the artist calls himself an exhibition at the State Museum of Fine Arts named after Pushkin.
