The canvas by Wassily Kandinsky "Stiff and bent" 1935 will be the top lot at Christie's auction in New York, reported the press service of the auction house.

 

Evening auction "Impressionist and Modern Art" will be held on 16 November.

 

For sale, in addition to painting Kandinsky exhibited works by Claude Monet, Chaim Soutine, Cézanne and other painters. The total estimated value of forty-nine upcoming auction items is more than $ 200 million.

 

Creation of Spanish artist Pablo Picasso will be presented at the auction immediately eleven works, including ceramic figurine owl.

 

Wassily Kandinsky - Russian painter and graphic artist, one of the founders of abstract art. The artist Kandinsky decided to become influenced by Impressionist exhibition in Moscow in 1895 and the painting "Haystacks" by Claude Monet, who also exhibited at the November auction.
