Grabar Restoration Center specialists have prepared an exhibition of their own works

The profession of "artist-restorer" meaning usually put the emphasis on the second word. Exhibition in the Scientific and Restoration Center Grabar in the first place brings artistic talent specialists of this unique institution. Such opposition - just an excuse to show the work of talented artists, where everyone - your voice, your stories, style and technique.

The majority of employees in the Grabar Center present an insoluble contradiction at first glance. By profession, they are a painter-restorers. On the one hand, it involves the creative freedom, but on the other - a set of restrictions and taboos. After restoring a work of another author, art restorers have to step on the throat of his own song.

"A good restorer is bound to be a coward. In terms of the fact that the exhibits that come to us, we can affect is minimal, "- says the artist-restorer Dmitry Kotov.

That's why decided to make a separate exhibition, in which would fully manifest creative individuality of each restorer. Dmitry Kotov said that in the process of restoration accumulates own energy, which then throws on the canvas.

Tatiana Pimenova just as Dmitri, specializes in the restoration of works of stone. Now she has to work a damaged bust of the emperor Nicholas I of Yaroslavl Museum. Stone, like it or not, cold material. Perhaps that is why in the painting Pimenova Tatyana mainly - warm pastel colors.

"There are no rules, there are no restrictions, no one can tell what to do, how to write. I do myself, that I want, and do it heartily, for some impulse ", - says the artist-restorer Tatyana Pimenov.

Vladimir Simonov in his canvases plays with time, transferring to canvas family photos of the last century. In another series of paintings by the artist pays tribute to the profession of restorer and at the same time raises the question: what is the true art, and that, as a late entry on the ancient icon, you can clean off, remove.

"To reach the author of the initial layer, the restorer reveals the layers gradually, layer by layer, these squares, and gradually comes to the bottom layer," - describes the art restorer, Vladimir Simonov.
