The master’s main source of inspiration is the quiet life of the Russian province, the beauty of the Russian nature in different times of the year and of the day. His landscapes are full of sun and light. He thinks that «painting a picture means creating a world of harmony, beauty and peace, where the soul of the spectator dwells».
Yuri Kudrin is a famous master of a still life. Trying to make his pictures utterly convincing, the artist uses a many–layered technique of painting. Yuri has mastered this technique to the utmost: his convincing linework and expressive colouring are based on exact, broadly contrasting tones, which make his paintings extremely rich and interesting. Paintings with bouquets of flowers are very elegant, poetic and fine in linework. The background is always simple. It helps the spectator to concentrate his attention on the most important things, and it makes the picture amazingly complete.
Brought up in the traditions of classical realism of the old masters the artist is persistent in following this trend. The paintings of Yuri Kudrin are in collections of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, in Moscow City Hall and in many private collections of art lovers of Russia and other countries of the world.
Yuri Kudrin was born in 1962 in the Moscow region in a family of artists. His grandparents also were artists. He loved art from his childhood and it became his profession. In 1980 he finished the Moscow art school at the Surikov Art Institute. But his first and the most important teacher was his father- Honored Artist of Russia Victor P. Kudrin. During the school years they often travelled together to the North of Russia and to other beautiful places of our country to make sketches. Since that time Yuri has loved everything connected with the Russian village and the nature of our country. It became the foundation of his creative work.
In 1986 Yuri graduated from the Moscow state Surikov Art Institute, the workshop of professor Victor Tsyplakov- a well known painter. Now Yuri Kudrin successfully works in the genres of landscape and still life.
Since 1998 Yuri has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists and a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. He is an active participant of numerous Russian and international exhibitions.
