Vasili Kurakin was born in 1920 in the Moscow region.


In 1940. He graduated from the Fedoskino lacquer miniature painting school.


Member of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.


He graduated from the Moscow Higher Industrial Art School named after Stroganov.
Member of the Russian Artists' Union.


Participant of numerous exhibitions.
