Poletaev Mikhail Anatolievich - painter, muralist
Distinguished artist of Russia
Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts
Mikhail Poletaev is representative of the contemporary Russian realistic school of painting.
The artist works in different genre, themes or styles. This peculiarity is due to his education: the Kalinin Moscow University of Industrial and Applied Arts (Fine painting department), The Moscow Higher School of Industrial and Applied Arts (former Stroganov, Murals department), Brothers Tkachevs’ Creative Studios in the Academy of Arts.
The artist works in the genre of the mural and panel painting, icon-painting, narrative painting, portrait, landscape, still-life.
In every monumental work (temple painting or secular painting) one can see a new technique which is somehow imposed by the architecture itself.
The search for the form and content in the easel painting guides the artist as to a decorative effect of the image as to its realistic direct understanding, or to a figuratively formal decision.
But the most characteristic feature of all his works is the commitment to an attentive dialogue with the nature and the tranquil commitment to the Beauty of our World bestowed us by the Creator.
