     Alexander Tolstikov is one of the most uncommon Russian painters. His uniqueness is related, first of all, to his special artistic career and a striking variety of stylistic methods as one can wander endlessly in the maze of his paintings, opening mysterious doors of picturesque worlds one by one. The golden sands of ancient times, the smell of lilac, surrealistic fantasies are the whole kaleidoscope of microcosmic images, which the complicated steeped-in-music world of the artist, his trailblazing experiments, hypotheses and solutions are composed of.

     Alexander Tolstikov’s art interprets traditions of the Russian and global realist experience and epitomizes the most unbelievable metaphysical enlightenment. Whether they are portraits of his contemporaries, images of nature, fantasy compositions, each painting has its own special and unique story behind it.

     Alexander Tosltikov, a third generation scientist, PhD in Chemistry, has never left behind his professional perception of art. Nowadays, the academician of two state academies, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Arts, continues astonishing connoisseurs with new series of his paintings and art projects due to his fantastic working capacities and dedication, doubling his vigorous activity in the spheres of art and science.
