The Pushkin Museum and Florentine Uffizi Gallery signed in Moscow an agreement on cooperation.
The signing ceremony was held at the Italian Embassy in Moscow with the participation of directors of museums Marina mules and Eike Schmidt, as well as Italian Ambassador Cesare Maria Ragalini.
As noted in a press release on this event, to mark the entry into force from 13 September to 11 December of this year at the Pushkin Museum will host an exhibition of works by the Italian artist Raphael's Renaissance era.
According Ragalini, recently in Russia were brought to the exhibition of the highest scientific and artistic level, in particular - Caravaggio and Titian, and "it has become a real tradition." "We deem it necessary to continue this way, who gave all of us only joy," - said the Italian Ambassador.
According to him, the exhibition "Raphael. Image Poetry" will feature 10 master pieces, some of which have never left the territory of Italy. "It seems to me, and Mr. Schmidt shares my view that at the scientific level, the exhibition will probably be in the next five years, the largest and most important exhibition of Raphael in the world", - the ambassador said.
