"We wanted to make such a salon so that it would become a new place for meeting collectors, galleries and museums, connoisseurs of art." Our concept is a mixture of modern design, art and works of old masters, but it is very important that the works are not just in the same space , but seem to have a dialogue with each other, "said Tass director of the company Art and Jewels of the World, organizer of the event, Valentina Vasileva.
The legendary Ivanovo Hall
From the Russian side the salon is organized by the company "Art-Courier" and the Russian State Library. Deputy General Director of the RSL Natalia Samoilenko recalled that the Ivanovo Hall, where the Salon of High Art and Design is held, was built in 1915 specifically for the demonstration of paintings and sculptures of the Rumyantsev Museum. It was here that Alexander Ivanov's painting "The Appearance of Christ to the People" was exhibited.
"We are now using this hall for exhibitions, where we show masterpieces from the collection of the Russian State Library, trying to show books, maps, manuscripts in a new way, as an art object, but since these walls also store the memories of the masterpieces of painting, the famous painting "The Appearance of Christ to the people," it is warm and pleasant for us when painting appears on the walls of the Ivanovo Hall, "Samoilenko told journalists at a press-show.
