Russia is ready to host one and a half million football fans, some of whom will undoubtedly join our culture in museums, where they have come up with special projects and proposals: "football nights", broadcast matches, concerts, audio guides, discounts or even free admission to Exhibitions.

The Tretyakov Gallery opened an exhibition of sculptural and pictorial works of the 1920s-1990s "Football and not only", which is timed to coincide with the main sporting event of the summer, the World Cup 2018.

The works included in the exhibition are located in the halls of permanent exposition, some of the works are also displayed in the halls of the museum. The project is based on an extensive collection of works on sports themes and introduces visitors to unique, rarely exhibited sculptures, featuring unusual plastic solutions, such as "Leap from the pole" (1952). Chaikova, "The Swimmer" (1973) Pogogovoy, "Race along the sand track" (1983) J. Soansa, "Football" (1983) O.B. Kostkevich. The exposition also includes works that have long been considered sculptural and pictorial classics: "The Girl with the Paddle" (1934-1935) I.D. Shadra, "Physical Education" (1947) M.G. Manizer, "Hockey players" (1971) I.M. Chaikova, "The Goalkeeper" (1934) A.A. Deineka, "Pushbow" (1931) P.V. Kuznetsova, "The Girl with the Core" (1933) A.N. Samokhvalov.
