Performance-concert "Van Gogh. Letters to my brother "at the Theater with the participation of People's Artist of Russia Yevgeny Mironov and People's Artist of the USSR Yuri Bashmet on the main stage of the theater on Monday, April 23.
Vincent van Gogh had only one person whom he could write, and could understand it, - his younger brother Theodore.
Letters to a brother is a document that spans hundreds of pages. This is the communication of Van Gogh not only with his brother, but also with himself, with God, with the world. Messages of the great artist of different years will be performed by Yevgeny Mironov.
"This is the history of the artist who, despite all the circumstances, until the last wanted to live, work and, not considering himself a great creator, to leave behind something that somehow justified his incredibly hard life," the artist said on the eve of the performance.
The story of Van Gogh is told in letters and music. With the accompaniment of the chamber ensemble "Moscow Soloists" under the direction of maestro Yuri Bashmet, works by Brahms, Schnittke, Mahler, and Beethoven will be performed.
This performance-concert takes place in favor of the Foundation for Support of Artists "Artist". All collected from the sale of tickets are available for implementation of one of the main programs of the fund - payment of patronage and home care for single veterans of the scene, as well as the purchase of expensive drugs. Today, among the trustees of the funds, there are two thousand cultural and art workers of the older generation.
