Nearly 80 Moscow museums will be open for free from 2 to 7 January 2018

In the New Year's holidays, 77 museums of the Moscow Department of Culture will work for free. To visit the most interesting and relevant exhibitions without buying a ticket, all interested persons will be able from 2 to 7 January. For example, these days in the New Manege will continue the exhibition "Immense Ryazanov", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of director Eldar Ryazanov. And in the Museum of M.I. Tsvetaeva will go to the exhibition "Where is my house?", Timed to the 125th anniversary of the poet.


"New Year holidays are an excellent chance to visit not only the notorious projects of 2017, but also new, premier thematic exhibitions in Moscow. In addition, many sites have prepared special holiday programs for visitors, "the press service of the Department of Culture told.


Among the thematic exhibitions the "Winter Kaleidoscope" exposition in the Vysotsky House on Taganka will work for free. Watercolors, paintings and graphics are devoted to nature, people and cities in winter. And in the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics everyone will be able to see unique souvenirs, figurines, busts, vases and porcelain services related to space themes. In the museum "Garden Ring" you can visit the exhibition "Moscow Christmas" for free. There will be presented pictures of Natalia Sokolovskaya, which depicts the ancient districts of the city on the eve of the New Year and Christmas.


Some areas can be visited only by appointment. For example, if you want to plan a visit to the exhibition "Daughter" in the memorial apartment of the Mayakovsky family at Krasnaya Presnya, the opening of which was one of the most spectacular events of this year, register for a session on the official website of the State Museum of V.V. Mayakovsky.


Among the museums that are open for free these days are the Museum of Archeology, the Gilyarovsky Museum and Exhibition Center, the Museum of the History of the Gulag, the Memorial Apartment of A.S. Pushkin, House of N.V. Gogol, Moscow State Museum S.A. Yesenin, the Fashion Museum, the Z.K. Tsereteli, the State Museum of V.V. Mayakovsky.
