In Moscow, once again opened the "hated" exhibition of Jock Sturges "Without embarrassment 2.0"

The exhibition of the American photographer Jock Sturges "Without confusion 2.0", showing his top-end work, opened today in the Moscow Center for Photography named after the Lumiere Brothers.

The Sturges project "Without embarrassment" was already shown to the Moscow public last year, but then the exhibition had to be closed because of the scandal that was erupting. The photo exhibition was opened on September 8 last year in the Center for Photography of the Lumiere Brothers on the Bolotnaya Embankment. September 25, 2016 members of the public organization "Officers of Russia" blocked the entrance to it after social networks and media reported that the work of Sturges, which depicted nude teenage girls, can be regarded as pornographic.

In this situation, the management of the Center of Photography voluntarily closed the exposition. Children's Ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova then asked the prosecutor's office to check the exhibition. A year later, according to the press service of the exhibition, the examination recognized a complete absence of signs of crime and a high artistic level of the works presented on it.

"We show the most top-notch things of Jock Sturges, emphasizing his style and known to the whole world." His photos are a story about pure thoughts and relationships in the family, "said the curator of the Photo Center named after the artist. brothers Lumiere Natalia Grigorieva-Litvinskaya.

The updated exposition includes 22 photographs of the nudist families of France, the USA (Northern California) and Ireland, whom Sturges has been shooting since the 1970s. The exposition also included materials concerning the scandal surrounding the closing of the exhibition.

"We supplemented the exhibition with a partially published conclusion of the Investigative Committee, articles from the media on this case, remarks of the provocateurs of the September events, fragments of television broadcasts that fanned the hype, because of which we were forced to close this exhibition last year," Grigorieva-Litvinskaya said.

The exhibition will last until January 8, 2018.
