Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts will first show in Japan 50 works of impressionists from his collection

The State Museum of Fine Arts. A.S. Pushkin will present 65 works of French landscape painting in Japan, 50 of them will be shown in Japan for the first time, director of the museum Marina Loshak told about it at a press conference in Tokyo.


"This time we present to the Japanese public a journey through the landscapes, all the works are of exceptionally high quality, the whole panorama from the XVII to the end of the XIX century related to this genre will be presented." The Japanese audience will be presented with 65 works not only of high quality, but becoming benchmarks in of its genre, out of 65 works, 50 will be shown in Japan for the first time, "said Marina Loshak.


Exhibitions will be held in the Tokyo Museum of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Museum of Art in Osaka from April to July next year.


Japanese viewers will be able to see the works of Paul Cézanne, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso and others. Among the works that the Japanese audience will see for the first time is the famous "Breakfast on the Grass" by Claude Monet.
