The Kaliningrad Amber Museum will present products of local masters at the International Salon of Cultural Heritage in the Louvre in Paris, which will be held on November 2-5.
The International Salon is organized by the Chamber of Artistic Crafts of France. Its purpose is to demonstrate to the general public unique objects, restored or newly created using ancient technologies and materials.
"The mission of the Kaliningrad delegation is to represent the Kaliningrad region as a center for artistic amber processing, as well as to once again demonstrate the beauty of the Baltic gem and the work of artists whose skills certainly deserve attention," the museum said in a press release.
On the territory of the Kaliningrad region, about 90% of the world's reserves of amber raw materials are concentrated. Amber reserves of amber at the Primorsky and Palmniken deposits of the Kaliningrad region are estimated at 116 thousand tons. About 200 enterprises and individual entrepreneurs work in this industry in the region, only about 2 thousand people.
