Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow continues to acquaint with the work of the great French photographer, one of the founders of the humanistic direction in photography and co-founder of the legendary photo agency Magnum - Henri Cartier-Bresson.

"Henri Cartier-Bresson's Photo Album" begins with the Marseilles photographs, the work on which the photographer finished in 1946. The book and exhibition prepared by the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation are a kind of diary in photographs.

"For me, the camera is a notebook where I make my sketches, it's a tool of my intuition, a rush, the lord of the moment," Cartier-Bresson said.

This photo diary is reflected in a variety of events that are equally important from the point of view of the artist: traveling with friends across Europe, walking around Paris, the civil war in Spain, the coronation of George VI, the trials of war criminals, the return of French soldiers and prisoners of war and much more .

"Henri Cartier-Bresson's photo album" tells about his becoming as a photographer, about the periods of success and failure, about the search, doubts, fascination with the cinema and years spent in captivity during the war. This is a glance into the past, summing up, a necessary pause, followed by a powerful leap forward - the foundation in 1947 of Magnum Photos, the most famous photo agency in the world, belonging to which has become synonymous with creative recognition for many generations of photographers.

The exhibition will be held from September 20 to December 10 in the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, ul. Ostozhenka, 16
