Eighty museums and galleries will work free of charge in honor of the celebration of the 870th anniversary of Moscow

Eighty museums and galleries will be open for free on September 9 and 10 on the occasion of the celebration of the 870th anniversary of Moscow, according to the official portal of the mayor and the government of the capital.

"To visit any of the city museums you need to get a free ticket at the ticket office, you do not need to present any documents, do not register in advance or register, but you need to pre-register to get free guided tours in museums 9 and 10 September, "- told the Moscow Center for Museum Development.

During the celebration of the City Day residents and guests of the capital will be able to visit the Museum of Moscow, the State Darwin Museum, Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, art galleries of Ilya Glazunov, Alexander Shilov and Vasily Nesterenko free of charge and other museums subordinate to the Moscow Department of Culture. It is noted that all museums and galleries will work according to the usual schedule.

As told to the portal in the Moscow Center for Museum Development, in the courtyard of the Museum of Moscow in the days of the festival will be a festival "Museum and City." An exhibition devoted to the history of the capital will be opened for visitors.

In the State Darwin Museum visitors will be presented with an exhibition of underwater photographs taken in different seas and oceans of the world, as well as unusual inhabitants of the terrarium: tropical scorpions, giant cockroaches, spiders, butterflies and stickers.

In the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, archaeological finds will be shown to everyone who found it on site during excavations. Also in the reserve are organized an exhibition of animalistic art in sculpture and painting of the XIX-XX centuries.

Also, museums and parks in Moscow will hold more than 200 free excursions: in the Kuskovo estate, for example, they will tell about the column Petra Sheremetev. Museum of Contemporary Art "Garage" invites everyone to an architectural walk along Gorky Park, and the Pushkin State Museum will conduct a walking tour of the Arbat. It is noted that you can sign up for excursions in museums or in the locations of special stands of the "Moscow excursion" project.
