Vasily Kandinsky's painting "Improvisation with horses (sketch for improvisation No. 20)" in 1911 will arrive in Moscow in September as part of the pre-auction tour of a private European collection. It includes not only modernism and modern art, but also the design and art of Africa and Oceania and is estimated at a total of $ 30 million.

For Kandinsky, Christie's plans to get $ 10-15 million, which on the wave of records of this artist does not look like such a large sum (in June for the "Abstract Composition" in 1913, Sotheby's received almost $ 42 million).

The fact that Moscow is included in the world tour of the collection is recognition of the importance of Russian participants in the art market. It is interesting that, with the practical death of the domestic market, compatriots continue to show activity abroad.

Specifically, buyers from Russia in their statistics Christie's does not mention, but reports that in the first half of 2017 new customers were more by a quarter, while almost half of them (42%) were "customers from Europe, the Middle East, Russia and India ".

In general, Christie's flourishes and continues to lead the world art market: in the first half of 2017, the sales volume of this auction house reached $ 3 billion, which is 14% more than in the same period last year.
