Salvador Dali's body to be exhumed tonight - according to a court ruling that satisfied the claim of Pilar Abel Martinez, who claims that the surrealist artist is her father.

Pilar Abel Martinez was born on February 1, 1956 in the Catalan city of Figueres, on claims that her mother had a secret relationship with the artist in Port Ligat, where she worked in the home of one of the local families. In 1955, the mother moved to Castellón de Ampurias, married and after a while she had a daughter. According to Pilar, for the first time she heard that she was the illegitimate daughter of Dali from her grandmother, the mother of the official father.

"I know that you are not the daughter of my son, you are from a great artist, but I still love you," Grandmother said, adding that she was "as strange as a father", Pilar Abel says.

In 2015, Pilar Abel filed the first lawsuit on the establishment of paternity, but on her side the court rose only in June 2017. If the examination really proves that the great surrealist is her biological father, Pilar will be able to claim his name and copyrights.

Salvador Dali died on January 23, 1989 at the age of 85 and was buried at the Dali Theater Museum in Figueres, as he bequeathed. He wanted his whole life and its manifestations to be accessible to the people, wanted to be buried under an unnamed slab, according to which people could walk. Now everyone can enter the crypt of the great surrealist. Dali died on January 23, 1989, at the age of 85.

The administration of the museum tried to delay the exhumation - the mayor of the city Marta Felipe stated that "with all the will to execute a court decision, it is almost impossible to do it on July 20," and that it is "not such a simple thing."

She recalled that the artist rests in a crypt under a stone slab that weighs a ton. In addition, the building belongs to a heritage representing the National Cultural Interest. Thus, it is necessary to request a work permit.

Initially, it was assumed that the process of exhumation will begin at 9 am (10 am Moscow time) on Thursday, but the court agreed to postpone the beginning of the work for the evening, after the museum is closed for a visit. That is, the work will begin at 20.00 pm local time (21.00 Moscow time) and should be completed by Friday morning. A forensic team and representatives of the court will participate in the process.
