A entrance to the gallery of the deceased artist Ilya Glazunov will be free on July 11, according to the website of the Moscow Department of Culture.


Member of the Academy of Arts of Russia, People's Artist of the USSR Ilya Glazunov - one of the most famous Russian artists, painter, book illustrator, stage designer, author of more than three thousand works - died July 9 in Moscow from cardiac arrest in the 88th year of life. He will be buried on Tuesday, July 11, at the Novodevichy Cemetery.


"On July 11th, the Moscow State Picture Gallery of the People's Artist of the USSR Ilya Glazunov will work for free, and you can leave a note in the book of memory," the message says.
Glazunov founded the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. The gallery of the artist, as well as the Estate Museum, was repeatedly visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The artist was a member of the Royal Academies of Arts of Madrid and Barcelona, ​​was awarded the gold medal "For Contribution to World Culture and Civilization" (UNESCO), the Order of the Reverend Sergei Radonezhsky (1999) and the Reverend Andrey Rublev (2010), the full Knight of the Order "For Services to the Fatherland".
