Russian and Soviet artist Ilya Glazunov will be buried on July 11 at the Novodevichy Cemetery. In addition, the press secretary of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Kirill, priest Alexander Volkov, told TASS that the funeral of Glazunov will take place at the Epiphany Cathedral in Elokhov. And the son of the artist Ivan Glazunov specified that the farewell can begin on Monday, July 10, in the old cathedral of the Sretensky Monastery.
Ilya Glazunov was born on June 10, 1930 in Leningrad. Since the late 1950s, he is one of the most famous Soviet and Russian artists. His exhibitions in the 80-90s in the Manege, where large-scale canvases were presented, had a huge public resonance.
Glazunov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, "For Services to the Fatherland" I, II, III and IV degrees. For direct participation in the restoration and reconstruction of the buildings of the Moscow Kremlin, including the Grand Kremlin Palace, was awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation.
