Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky opened in Tuesday at the Museum of International Numismatic Club (MINC) the exhibition "Gold coins in the history of the Romanov dynasty" from the collections of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, the State Historical Museum and private collections.
The exhibition features more than 700 unique exhibits. Among the rarest pieces - ducat 1716, the only Russian gold coin with an inscription in Latin, released specially for foreign payments during trips of Peter I in Europe, as well as "well-known coins" - the fake Dutch ducats minted St. Petersburg Mint for secret operations of the Russian Empire.
MINC was established by entrepreneur and philanthropist Vagit Alekperov and opened in 2015 in a renovated building chambers Zinoviev-Yusupov, an architectural monument of the XVII century.
The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Culture from 22 February to 17 December.
