The Exhibition of icons and works of Soviet and foreign art, dedicated to the "Great Russian Revolution", will open on 23 February in Geneva art gallery "D10" and will last until March 18.
"At the exhibition we collected works of art created since the beginning of the Revolution to the present day. They are all united by one theme, to show which path we have gone over the 100 years, and how much we still have to go through. A century ago, people believed in God and one praying to icons, the gods have changed today, but people continue to pray, now the other icons: a movie star, revolution, natural resources, etc. All of them are to some extent had their revolution and have had a significant impact on people, "- he said RIA Novosti organizer and gallery owner Victoria Dzodziev.
The exhibition will feature Russian icons of XIX - early XX centuries, started before the beginning of the revolution, portraits of Soviet leaders - the leaders of the revolutionary movement, which today cause conflicting opinions, the image of the "new icons and revolutionaries of XX century" - Marilyn Monroe and Che Guevara, original works of artists Timur Novikov and Roland Shalamberidze. A separate part of the exhibition assigned creatively processed photographs of the royal family were shot against the background of Tobolsk, the authorship of Andrei Chezhina.
Earlier, on February 11 the exhibition "Revolution Russian Art 1917 -. 1932" opened at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
