An exhibition "Family Portrait" from the collections of the Russian Museum opened at the Museum of Fine Arts of Karelia

Museum of Fine Arts of Republic of Karelia accept the exhibition of the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, "Family Portrait".

 

At the exhibition you can see the most famous and loved paintings by prominent artists of Vladimir Borovikovsky, Ivan Khrutsky, Fyodor Tolstoy, Konstantin Makovsky, Pavel Filonov, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Boris Kustodiev, Dmitry Žilina and works of decorative art XIX-XX centuries.

 

The family theme in the visual arts was relevant at all times in Russia. Family matters and issues understandable and close to everyone. In front of you will appear a vast gallery of portraits and genre scenes, telling the events of the private life of different strata of Russian society. This unique, family album, leafing through the pages of which we come into contact with the history of our country through the fate and personal relationships of people living in it.
