Europe's post-war art exhibition (1945-1968) will be held in Moscow

The exhibition "Art in Europe 1945-1968. Facing the Future "organized by the Pushkin Museum. Pushkin State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO", Center for Fine Arts BOZAR (Brussels) and the Centre for Art and Media ZKM (Karlsruhe). Now the exposition is exposed in Brussels (until September 25), then move to Karlsruhe (from 21 October to 29 January), and 7 March finally get to Moscow.

 

The State Museum of Fine Arts. Pushkin will be presented 180 works by artists from Europe and the Soviet Union, including Alexander Deineka, Henry Moore, Pablo Picasso, Gerhard Richter, Michael Roginskii, Vladimir Tatlin and others.

 

All work involved in the exhibition, created in the period from 1945 to 1968. They are intended to show that, in spite of the ideological confrontation during the Cold War, the artists always united humanistic ideas. For the first time since 1945 neoavangardnoe art of Western and Eastern Europe is shown together.

 

The exhibition is divided into six halls: "The End of War" (Paul Nash, Pablo Picasso, Hans Richter, Ossip Zadkine), "Mourning and Memory" (Andrzej Wroblewski, Ville Zitte, Henry Moore, Gerhard Richter, Werner Tübke), "Cold War" (Renato Guttuso, Alexander Deineka, Fernand Leger), "New realism" (Alexander Zhdanov, Eduardo Paolozzi, Yuri Pimenov, Oscar Rabin, Michael Roginskii), "new idealism" (Yuri Zlotnikov, Yves Klein, Vyacheslav Koleichuk, Jean Tinguely, Lucho Fontana, the group Zero) and "The End of utopia?" (Harald Metskes, the COBRA group, SPUR).

 

The exhibition will be held at the State Museum of Fine Arts. Pushkin Moscow exhibition will be held from March 7 to May 28, 2017.
